This is a very rare antiquity found years ago in Spain. Terra Cotta heads of this type were located in the front of a horse drawn funeral chariot in the 1700 to early 1800s. The head is on a flexible rod and is animated with the movement of the chariot… as if it was mourning the passengers death. This is really a powerful icon and projects great respect. The patina is wonderful and after 200 plus years it still shows some of the original paint. This item can be found at Radio-Guy.com and 1stdibs.com
